Beyond Scary!! Ahh!!!

I was just browsing the web and I ran across something that just took me by surprise. A South-African designer by the name of Leanie Van Der Vyver really got in touch with her artistic side and created "Scary Beautiful". "Scary Beautiful" are shoes that look very weird, scary, and backwards. I love that she used her creativity and went to an extreme. I love everybody's artistic abilities and value their work. Now, I can say that I'm not always excited about some of our designers creations because not everything is created to be worn. I love clothes and SHOES, but I know DAMN well I wouldn't be able to wear those shoes. She went beyond and above and I admire her for that. There have been other fashion bloggers and critics being really hard on her, but I say look at as art. You be the judge.

New York Fashion Week

Well by this being a fashion blog, you know that I will be giving you the latest. Yesterday, we all either watch the National Democrat Convention or the MTV Video Music Awards. Those were pretty big events, but let's not forget New York Fashion Week, which also started yesterday. If you want to keep up with NYFW, then you can click on this link: www.newyorkfashionweek.com, and watch a live feed of the runway shows for up coming 2013  Spring/Summer collections for your favorite designers. Throughout the week, I will pick my favorite looks right off the runway.

Kevin Hart Swag

First up! Kevin Hart! Even though Kevin sticks with blazers and jackets, he went hard with this Dsquared2 Leopard Print & Calfskin Tuxedo Jacket ($1, 965) on the 2012 VMAs last night. Many celebrities like 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Tyga has wore leopard print, but those guys had nothing on Kevin Hart. When I first saw him in this blazer fasgasm (fashion orgasm), and it sent shivers down my spine. Not all men can pull off wearing prints, but Kevin Hart has proved otherwise.

Men's Fashion Coming Soon!

A lot of people around me has asked why haven't I included men's fashion or if I will include men's fashion on my blog? The answer to those two questions are I attempted to go with men's fashion, but I really didn't put anything into yet and yeah I will explore the men's fashion. I love men's fashion just as much as I do women's. I will use men's fashion in the same context as I would women's fashion such as Style Lurker and keep you up to date with the hottest trends. I know that there some guys out there that are interested in the most exclusive shoes and latest trends ( believe me I have a brother that's keeping up with that) or women that want to keep up with the latest fashion for their man. Sorry it has been long over due, but it has arrived!

Rihanna's New Look

OK, so if you haven't already tuned into the VMAs, then you are missing out. Rihanna has done it again and doesn't plan on stopping any time soon. On the read carpet, Rihanna revealed her fresh new haircut, which remains me of Mia Farrow's Pixie Cut in Rosemary's Baby. I actually love Rihanna's versatile hair styles, but this hair style is very simple yet elegant. I love it; it's HAUTE.

Miley Cyrus

Can you say HAUTE!!! Miley Cyrus looks amazing in this Pucci gown. Although she has cut off all that gorgeous hair, I still think that it is a good look for her. It reminds me of P!nk, but she owns it...well. I don't care what anybody says, I LOVE IT!

Style Lurker: Rihanna

The first time I made a post on my weekly Style Lurker, I talked about Solange's sense of style and her inspiration, but I love Rihanna's style as well. Well, just put it like this, I love anybody with an edgy and daring style. Rihanna has taken on every trend possible, but she has her on swag about it. Rihanna's swag has everything to do with her personality and she shows it through her fashion. She's rebellious and just don't give a fuck about what anybody has to say and I love that about her! She sported this look while being out. I thought that there would be others that would love to own this look, so I took the time to find the alternatives that is affordable for everybody.

Welcome to the Animal Kingdom

While working in Target, I have noticed some trends that I really haven't posted about, but there is one in particular that has caught my eye...printed or embriodered animal fashion. After seeing this, I did a little more in depth investgation and turned to "Who, What, Wear" for confirmation. I found out that this will be the next upcoming trend and it looks amazing. There are some designers that has ensembles in their 2012 fall/winter collections, such as Burberry and Paul & Joe. There were also some designers that already taken advantage of this HAUTE trend, such as Mulberry, Tucker by Gaby Basora and Tory Burch. I am in love with this trend and my favorite piece that look the most daring is the Tiger Embroidery on Wool Knit Sweater made by Kenzo. I would rock this sweater with a pair of printed leggings and combat boots. This sweater is a bit expensive for my clutch, but I will still take advantage of this trend. Will you? Leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Top 6 Fall Trends

I love Glamour Magazine to the T!! I recently received the September issue with Victoria Beckham as guest editor and this issue is strictly dedicated to fall fashion!! Glamour also shares with us six trends to look out for this fall!

Trend #1:
Bold Embroidered Dresses: When first seen this, I honestly never thought of embroidery being this gorgeous. I always seen small embroidery on the back pocket of jeans or huge lettering down the side of the leg on a pair of Coogi jeans. Which by the way, I find very distasteful, especially on women. Designer, Stella McCartney, introduce her very own gorgeous embroidered dress for her 2012 fall/winter collection.

Trend #2:
Fall Trend Color: “Oxblood” or Glamour’s preferred term Chianti will be the new color that will be appealing to the eye this fall. It’s a dark and very deep red that looks really good with black, but can look just as good with other colors like darker shades of pink, or orange. Designers like DKNY, Stuart Weitzman, Tommy Hilfiger, and Michael Kors all have taken this color and designed very fashionable pieces.

Trend #3:
Color Blocking (Um, yeah what did you think?): All of my co-workers and friends would tell you that I have always tried to push them into color-blocking and do something different with their fashion, you know come out of their comfort zone and let me tell you no one was having it. Not even my best friend. I believe that this is a really good way to get you into colors if you are trying to come out of that one color, one style coma.

Trend #4:
Wild & Fun Prints: I have already posted on prints being in for the fall season and you know how I feel about it, but I will say again that I love prints. I have always been a daredevil of fashion; this IS one trend that I know I will take on.

Trend #5:

Sweater Swag: I never really been a fan of sweaters and this is a trend that I may try. This would look really good in some loose fit pants or jeans and skirt with combat boots, riding boots, cowboy boots and loafers. You could even layer you sweater with a button down.

Trend #6:
Poppin’ Colla’s:  Well, for the past few seasons, we have all fallen in love with the button downs. We have accessorized them with long necklaces or chokers.  Now, you can accessorize your shirts and sweaters with collars. It is a fun way to make your old fashions look like they’re fresh of the runway.

Fan Of Prints

So, I just read one of my favorite newsletters/blog, "Who. What. Wear." and I noticed that some trends never get old. Well, in this case, prints will be in for a while. I felt this in particular reminds me of the kaleidoscopes we all had when we were kids. Well now it is admired in high fashion and know to be geometric prints. Prada and Louis Vuitton both jumped on geometric prints for their F/W 2012 collection. You can find anything with geometric print at Forever 21, H&M, and www.gojane.com for affordable prices.

Style Lurker: Solange Knowles

Let me just start by saying that I love Solange Knowles and her style is impeccable. Honestly. I love how she is embodies Afrocentric fashion with an edge. Solange has said that her style has been influenced by Diana Ross, The Fela Kuti Queens, Bjork, 70s-era Chaka Khan, Chloe Sevigny, 90s Erykah Badu and her leading lady, her mom. She did a 8 page spread for Glamour France last month and she ROCKED it.

My Favorites of the Best Dressed

Honestly, this post was supposed to be about Rihanna's cover and multi-page spread in this month's issue of Harper Bazaar magazine. I thought that she looked gorgeous and I LOVE her freaking sense of style of course. BUT...I got side tracked and I seen that Derek Blasberg has his onw weekly update on the Best Dressed Celebrities. Believe me, I liked all of his picks, but I fell in love with a few.

First, there is Gwen Stefani. This is one of his last week's picks, but I love it. She isn't the first to rock the leopard look but, can I say: SHE WORE THIS WELL!! This was a Blumarine suit that she only accessorized with a pair of black Ray-Bans and black pumps. Haute!!!!
Second, is Jessica Biel looking lovely in Dior Couture. She was accessorized with an over-sized necklace and a clutch.
Last but certainly not least, is Pat Cleveland. One of the first African Amercian supermodels of the 60s and 70s. I think she looks great and the grown looks amazing on her!! Those are my favorites of those picks. I know that you guys have a favorite too! Let me know what you think. And to get Derek Blasberg entire weekly Best Dressed Celebrities go to www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/fashion-articles/best-dressed-celebrities-080312#slide-1

Comics In High Fashion?

Well, I love staying up to date with everything that's fashion, but this latest trend, I have found to be very intriguing. Some of the most innovative designers has shown their love for comic books. Like Hannah Zakari, Tsumori Chisato, Phillip Lim, and Markus Lupfer, just to name a few. I love everything about it! The intensity of the colors, the bold lettering, and how unique each piece is! I mean who wouldn' t love it!! Well, I can only speak for myself, tell me what you think!
